Cherie Currie - This Is Spinal Tap Outtake!!
Cherie plays the lead singer of New Wave band “The Dose”, Spinal Tap’s opening act for the night. Tap is late for soundcheck, and when they finally arrive, they find The Dose about to run through a number called “Video Games”
This scene is only found in the workprint version of the film, which runs close to five hours. Quality is the best I could get it, with light audio tweaking employed to kill some of the tape hiss.
“The Dose” were completely removed from the film, but the herpes sores were not. So if you’ve ever wondered why most of the guys in the band have a little “cold sore” from time to time, now you know. I’ll post all bits of this abandoned storyline at a later date.
Here’s hoping that this will someday get released as part of a truly special Deluxe Edition. I want this song!!!!
